    I bought my Polaroid One step 2 used. I need help… it doesn’t release the protective film ever. The first 2 pictures always come out overexposed from the top half. How do I add a protective shield? Maybe it’s broken? Thank you

    Is it just me or did anyone else actually know this, but still went looking for a battery and made yourself feel real stupid 😅😅😅 After watching your video I remembered my grandpa telling me about this when I was younger and just a few minutes ago my older brother pulled out one of my Polaroids and was asking if it worked, I had just figured it was too old or something this whole time. Don't think I'd ever thought to get new film, at least until now 😅🤦 thank you, sincerely 🙏

    I know this is an old video but man, what a great tutorial! I was able to make the double exposure device no problem, thank you! The question I have is, how do you avoid light leaks using this?? I’ve tried it twice now and both times I have massive light leaks from the stick side of the film. I even tried painting the stick black and still I get tons of light leaking in. Any tips??

    • @chazyarbrough7396
      @chazyarbrough7396 Місяць тому

      I have the same issue, massive light leaks no matter what I do. Think the only option is to go into a pitch black room or use like a darkroom bag when putting in or removing the tool. Gonna try that and see if I have any luck. Let me know if you fixed this though

  • @patrickwilson1440

    You got to be kidding, Instax film is much better than Polaroid. It has stronger colours, better contrast, is sharper and develops much quicker. Plus Polaroid film can be unreliable, sometimes you'll get colour banding on the photo or parts of the photo undeveloped with areas just covered by a brown tinge.

    Does it really matter with the new 600 film that you get in in the dark asap? I’m really anal about getting the pic into a pocket or dark room and I’m wondering if people have ever done a side by side comparison to a pic developed in pure light and a pic developed in a pocket. Thanks !

    The SX-70 loses value when the skin is removed. Unless its in really bad shape do not remove it. If the corners are lose, all you need to do is add a bit of flexible glue. Use a blowdryer get the leather warm, and if peals off extremely easy. The original leather is of very high quality italian leather, nice and thin. The replacements are thick and very cheap, most are not even genuine leather. Good video tho.

    Is that milky layer glue that holds the emulsion to the transparent frame? Has anyone else had the experience when working with a fresh color print of the emulsion sticking to the developer side rather than the transparent side of the split print? When it does this, it lifts extremely easily and there is no milky layer; it apparently stays with the transparent frame. Much easier and cleaner to lift when this happens, though they do tend to rip at the base, with just a little of the emulsion sticking to the transparent frame on the chunky end. Thanks for this helpful tutorial.

    • @prosperpianos
      @prosperpianos Місяць тому

      I’ve had this experience a lot and it’s super frustrating! Like you said, sometimes it’ll stick to the clear Mylar and sometimes it’ll stick to the photo itself but more times than not it doesn’t separate easily like he shows in this video it just stays attached and in some rare cases if I put the sticky side up on the paper I can actually brush it off more often than not just rip and I have to start over

    My Impossible 660 AF Land Camera, bought 2 weeks ago, has a frog tongue, but the manual that came with it suggests to install one for further protection. When I last loaded film and the black cover got ejected I noticed the tongue covering it but it then retracted by itself, before the cover was fully ejected. I haven't yet seen what it does with the film itself as I'm always keen to grab the pics and slip into my pocket. So, these cameras either have a tongue or don't, right? There's no "frog tongue 2.0"?
